Ashbourne Credit Union - Business of the fortnight

Ashbourne Credit Union
St Declan’s Ashbourne Credit Union has been in existence since 1970. We offer a wide range of financial services to our members, in a co-operative and not-for-profit basis. We are directed by a voluntary Board of Directors who are elected by our members at each year’s AGM. Credit Unions are independent financial organisations, regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland, all of which are established in their own specific location called common bonds. Each of them determines what types of products and services they are able to provide to their members. For our Credit Union, we can accept membership from persons living or working in Ashbourne itself, as well as Ratoath and the townlands surrounding Ashbourne. Many people are often unaware that they can join us if they are working locally but living elsewhere. We are actively trying to spread this message around, so any assistance the Chamber can give us will be most welcome. St Declan’s Ashbourne Credit Union provide a wide range of highly competitive loans, big & small, plus an extensive range of financial services, including online accounts, a Mobile App, Budget accounts, Foreign Exchange services, our quarterly Car Draw (which is very popular), Bill payment facility, credit transfers etc. As well as working directly with our members, not to be overlooked is our ongoing activity within our local schools & wider community, supporting their initiatives for growth and development wherever we possibly can. We have proudly supported local students, encouraging them to sign up for our bursary scheme which is getting more popular every year.

Chez Emily - Business of the fortnight

Chez Emily
Established in 1996, through a love of all things chocolate, Chez Emily combines the very best raw materials, the freshest local ingredients and uses only the highest quality Belgian Chocolate. The couverture chocolate we use is from Belgium and is a high quality Belgium chocolate that contains only cocoa butter. No substitutes or additives are used in the chocolate in place of the cocoa butter and this gives the chocolate a creamy mellow flavour, a shinny appearance and a snappier snap! Our Chocolate Boutique is located in Ashbourne Town Centre. It is a lovely place to sit back and relax after browsing all the shelves of chocolate creations. Ariosa Coffee is hand roasted in nearby Ashbourne and is served alongside a range of teas and soft drinks, and you always get a complimentary chocolate with your hot drink! Plenty of desserts and pastries to also choose from.

St. Patrick's Day Parade 2018

The Chamber's Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade took place on Saturday the 17th March. Unsurprisingly, numbers were down on previous years due to the near Baltic weather conditions. However, this did not impact on the great atmosphere and the absolute enjoyment of all of the participants. Huge thanks to the volunteers who braved the weather from early in the morning right through until late in the evening and eventually completing their work ...
